Anal about batteries

Sorry for this, but I want to refer back to it to help my understanding of the battery systems on Waterlily.

Interesting, but how did you manage to get two sets of batteries to the same percentage charge at exactly the same time.

My error, the smartgauge shows the % charge for the leisure batteries only.

Nev, how is it that at 80% charge it reads 12.8V and yet at 63% charge it reads 0.1V more?

Halfie,

The blurb says it takes a few charge and discharge cycles before the wizardry knows the true state - so it is still most probably learning. Hopefully a few more cycles will see it settle??

I think that it tries to determine the load and the time from charge as all of this will effect the state of charge. I try to do this with a simple voltmeter, which can be a bit tedious but I usually try and take the measurement with a similar load and after a few hours have past since I recharged the batteries.
This is why I am interested in how you get on with this instrument, it should make it so much simpler.

Although if I measure anything greater than 12.6 I think that my batteries are fully charged. I will start measuring just after a recharge, instead of after a days discharge.
