Floating on sewerage water

Seems that a couple of rivers that feed canals are being kept alive by the out flows from sewerage works so says NBW. It's a double not nice prospect that we may soon be floating on recycle wee and if there is not enough of that not floating at all!

I'm sure it is more scaremongering from NBW but all the same the investments we make to have our boats on the canal may be limited by the places we may not be able to visit in the future.

The Shroppie and the Staffs and Worcs have long been supplied by the sewage plants of Wolverhampton. Most people think it's a good thing, and certainly nothing to complain about.

Ha, Adam got in front of me! I was going to say exactly the same thing.

Also, if you are worried about cr*p in the wrong place, how can you stand NBW?

Cheers

Bruce

Adam/Bruce,

Thanks for the comments. I was not aware of the fact the Shroppie (esp) and the S&W were supplied in such a way. I like the comment about NBW and CR*p it made me literally LOL. In my defense I like reading what Ralph has to say and I was a keen follower of his blog before he shut it down. The rest is very Daily Mail, minus Princess Dianna stories of course.

I read somewhere the water in the UK is recycled up to six times before finally being discharged.

One assumes this means the water in the canals has to be pretty clean.... after being filtered by six different sets of kidneys :-)
